When the Morse Decree was written, it was intended that one share
per acre would be adequate. But now they have culinary water in
addition to irrigation water and one share per acre is more than
enough for an acre.

rents for $65/Share/year. However a Salt Lake City pays per
share for use as culinary water. Plus the owner has irrigation
water.
Tim Ohara of the Salt Lake City Water Department
said that there is a water exchange agreement this company. In essence they use
the good water out of the Canyon and trade Utah Lake water for irrigation. They
take as much as 1.67 million gallons per day from April 1 to Sept 30, and
930,000 gallons per day the remainder of the year. Irrigation takes 22% of the
stream April, May, June. The City gets 30 cfs July, 28 cfs Aug, 26 cfs Sept, 15
cfs Oct.
Arion Erekson President of the Irrigation Company said that
the City had to deliver 953 gallons per day for each share of water from April
1, to Sept 30 and the remainder of the year they had to deliver 544
gal/day/share without charge.
